2009-2010 Colorado All State High School Orchestra

Audition Information for: Woodwinds

Orchestral woodwinds required will be — Flute, Piccolo, Oboe, English horn, Clarinet, E-flat Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, and Bassoon. Those of you who double on piccolo, English horn, or bass clarinet please note that fact on your audition form and select a solo to perform in conjunction with your audition on your primary instrument. Please record your doubling solo on a separate audition tape/CD. All individuals who double must audition on their primary instrument to be considered for acceptance. Students auditioning on two instruments should pay one fee of $20.00 if auditioning within one family of instruments, i.e. oboe and English horn. Students auditioning on two or more instruments, such as clarinet/bassoon must pay the $20.00 audition fee per instrument. Please prepare your audition using the guidelines listed below. Minimum requirements of octaves and tempi for scales are those listed. Woodwind students auditioning for All-State Orchestra will perform scales, the required excerpts(s) and a solo. Please notice the required solos for wind instruments!

Please read the taping procedures carefully and complete the audition form clearly and correctly. CDs/tapes, materials and fees (payable to Colorado Music Educators Association) must be postmarked by October 16, 2009. No CD/tape will be accepted for adjudication thereafter.
